Cheap medium for large scale pond culture...

Does anyone know of some cheap additives that could be added to a
pond containing water to be bioremediated, which would jumpstart
the indigenous bacterial population? My expertise is mostly
labscale, where medium economics are not such an issue.

I can think of a few...cow or chicken manure, for example. We
might expect some Pseudomonas to be present, so most carbon
sources would probably work.

Thanks.
