hello there, I was wondering if anyone here could help me. I am applying
to several graduate micro programs with the intention of going into
medical microbiology. I am afraid however, that if I get my phd that i
will be limiting myself to a life of research. I love research but want
to make sure that there will always be positions that i could fill doing
more clinical work, culturing bugs in hospitals, infection control in
hospitals, etc.
Does a phd limit one to a life of grant funded research?
What are the opportunities for someone with a phd besides working
in academic/lab type settings?
I realize that these are HUGE questions i am asking, but if you
any ideas or insights that might help me they would be greatly appreciated.
