Last year an 'Indian Pacific' report on Australia's Radio National did a report on a Japanese man whose job 
involved culturing Yersinia pestis during WW2.  You could try contacting Radio National by going to my 
homepage and looking for the 'Health Report' link.  That will take you to Radio National web site, there you 
might find someone who can help.
