Hello,
my name is Robert Horan. I recently graduated from Hofstra
University with a BA in Biology and am now looking for employment in
the field of microbiology. For the past year I worked as a research
assistant to Dr. Joanne Willey at the university. Our work involved
the bacterium Streptomyces coelicolor. Information regarding our
research may be found on ASIRC at:
    http://biosci.cbs.umn.edu/asirc/bios/bioslist/jwilley.html
To summarize this work, we have been working with F factor - a signal
(or group of signals) molecule produced by the mutant strain bldF which
restores the wild type phenotype in the mutant strain bld261. We have
tried to isolate and characterize this signal with partial success. To
date we have been able to isolate a signal using reverse phase
chromatography. In the course of my work I was trained on the scanning
electron microscope, and was able to incorporate that data into my
work.

Any information would be most appreciated. Feel free to email me if
you have any questions. Thank you for your time.
