Hello,
I cannot do otherwise than support strongly the views expressed about
the need for safety and consultation with local experts. There is a
common phenomenon observed in laboratories that students leave their
common sense outside. Many laboratory accidents/incidents are caused by
students doing things that they would not dream of doing in an ordinary
kitchen - like putting plastic items into very hot ovens. The laboratory
is an extension of real life - you CAN get really killed or injured in a
laboratory. There is no magic protection just because it is a laboratory
- a radiation badge does not PROTECT you from radiation - it simply
monitors how much you have received !
