The North American Conference on Setting Specifications for Drug
Substances and Drug
Products is a joint conference of the FDA, USP, PDA, AAPS and FIP to be
held this August in
Washington, DC. Its purpose is to provide a unique opportunity for
broad industry
participation in exploring, discussing and developing a North American
position on drug
substance and product specification setting. Pharmaceutical industry
and regulatory experts
from the U.S., Europe, Canada and Mexico will present the latest
technological developments
and scientific considerations for the establishment of universally
accepted guidelines for
manufacturers. Workshops held during the conference will development
recommendations to
be presented to the U.S. expert group for development as a North
American recommendation
to ICH 4, to be held in Brussels in 1997.
