Rene, I used 0.1 M EDTA to kill E. coli JM105. This kept the cells intact to use in a lysozyme
assay and worked well.
Basic protocol was to resuspend the culture in an equal volume of EDTA, gently agitate for 5
min, pellet, and resuspend in Tris pH 7.4.
