We found a natural enrichment of 2-naphthol degraders in acidified wastewater from lignite pyrolysis. Does anybody have any idea what the ability to degrade 2-naphthol could stand for besides (i.e. which pathways, degradation potentials or enzyme unspecifities could be involved)?
