Hi everyone,
Has anybody out there done 2D-PAGE work with Clostridium species? I
have found that the usual methods I use to solubilize the cell proteins
don't work as well as for other bacterial species (though I've only used
Gram-negs in the past). This may be in part because the cells are growing
under nutrient-poor conditions, and tend to sporulate - unfortunately I
can't get away from that, because it is part of the study. I'd be
grateful for any tips from people who have solubilized total cell protein
from Clostridia in the past.
