Re:monitoring bacteria by respirometery
We at Columbus Instruments have developed very sensitive O2/CO2
RESPIROMETER (Micro-Oxymax) which measures head space gas exchanges with
0.2 microliter O2/hour sesitivity. It can work with 1 to 80 samples which
can be solid or liquid of variety of sizes from grams to many kg. It
operates on closed chamber principle( with periodic air refresh) with
external O2 , CO2 and optional CH4,H2,H2S and NH3 sensors.
I tis being used for biodegradations research of many substances such as
TNT, creozote, oils, polymers, paper, detergents. It can be also used in
open air flow configuration to mesure oxygen consumption of compost and
sludge.
We have number of published papers on its application.
