Any information concerning the use 5-fluoroorotic acid (5-FOA) in media
for nutritional studies in bacteria would be much appreciated. I think I
know where it fits in the uridine biosynthesis pathway but am having
trouble with the mechanics of the stuff. Is it safe to autoclave the
media with the FOA in it? Merck lists solubility as 1.7mg/ml but is it
possible to get a more concentrated solution? Thanks.
