Check out the following review:

Shaw KJ, Rather PN, Hare RS, Miller GH. 1993. "Molecular genetics of
aminoglycoside resistance genes and familial relationships of the
aminoglycoside-modifying enzymes." Microbiological Reviews 57(1):138-163

According to it, the gene from Tn903 is classified as aph(3')-Ia and provides
resistance to kanamycin, neomycin, paromomycin, ribostamycin, lividomycin, and
gentamicin B. The gene from Tn5 is classified as aph(3')-IIa and provides
resistance to kanamycin, neomycin, paromomycin, ribostamycin, butirosin, and
gentamicin B. So it would seem that lividomycin and butirosin might distinguish the
two enzymes.

Cheers,
- Peter
