nosocomial vs. iatrogenic

Webster's 3rd International Dictionary (unabridged) 1981:
Iatrogenic: Induced by a physician - used chiefly of ailments
induced in a patient by autosuggestion based on a physician's words or
actions during examination.

Nosocomial: Originating or taking place in a hospital.

My interpretation has been that infections are nosocomial; other
conditions (sponge left after surgery, wrong leg amputated, etc) are
iatrogenic. I'd never considered "autosuggestion". Does anyone in
medicine have a different take?
