Help identify bacterium

Danny,

I have a suggestion for the identification of your bacteria: perhaps they
are streptococci. The pin-point alpha hemolytic colonies are suggestive
of streptococci and they grow under the conditions you mentioned. Some
will grow on McConkey agar, particularily if the crystal violet is left
out of the media. They can appear to be Gram variable, and sometimes
extremely pleomorphic when grown on solid media.

Happy New Year,

Karen
