I understand that there is a high iron content (cytochrome ?) in both autotrophic and heterotrophic bacteria. Does this mean that most bacteria are paramagnetic (i.e. capable of becoming magnetic when placed in a magnetic field) ? Josh backon at VMS.HUJI.AC.IL
