* SUMMARY___________________________________________________________
A microbiologist, biochemist or molecular biologist is required to work
on the synthesis regulation of bacteriochlorophylls by green sulphur
bacteria. The work will concentrate on the biosynthesis of
Bacteriochlorophylls, in particular the final methylation step of BCHl d
to BChl c, and the study and characterization of the enzyme(s) involved.
* QUALIFICATIONS____________________________________________________
The post would ideally suit any microbiologist of molecular biologist
with experience in enzymology, protein characterization by site-direced
mutagenesis, and general bacterial physiology. Previous experience with
photosynthetic bacteria (isolation and culture) will be also positively
considered.
* LOCATION __________________________________________________________
The position will be based in Girona (NE Spain), within a group working
on eco-physiology of green sulfur bacteria.
