General question: I've got a fungal contaminant in my TC media, and I'd
like to know what genus/species it is. Simply saying it's white and
looks like a round, furry mass of mycelia won't get me close enough I'm
sure. What information does one need to unequivocally identify a fungus?
I see no fruiting structures--that would make it too easy. If there
were available on the net a taxonomy with a key to relevant
physiological characteristics, that would be the best, if such exists.
