A new BLAST service for the recently released microbial genomes from
Pseudomonas aeruginosa Genome Project is now available at NCBI
from this URL:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/BLAST/
This unfinished genome is not yet available in GenBank or Entrez. The
genome is searchable via BLASTN (a user's nucleotide query vs. the
microbial DNA sequences), TBLASTN (a user's protein query vs. a 6-frame
translation of the microbial DNA sequences) and TBLASTX (a user's
nucleotide query translated in the 6 frames vs. a 6-frame translation
of the microbial DNA sequences) using the new gapped BLAST algorithm
(Altschul et al., 1997).
There is also two version of this data available for this genome. The
present assembly (now in 2524 contigs) which gives the curent best
assembly of the 5.9 MB genome. There are also the original machine
single reads which will give you information about identifying clones
of interest.
As for the other partially sequenced genome we offer on our BLAST
server, the data does not reside at NCBI, and users are invited to get
the data from the respective sites, which for this Pseudomonas aeruginosa
genome is:
