Dear Colleagues:
The question has been raised that what "worst genetic nightmare" could we
think about that would make a good novel. Is this irresponsible? Many genetic
manipulations are do-able, some techniques are actually occurring that
although benign, if used as a model for other systems would make this planet
uninhabitable. I urge some care and some perspective on this.
