There was a paper published around 1980 (sorry, I don't have my files
from this period anymore) which claimed that when Kaposi's sarcoma
tissue was transplanted into nude mice, the resulting tumors were
genetically mouse. This was the first suggestion that KS might be caused
by a virus separate from HIV.
