Try a more inhibitory Maconkey formulation or something like Chromocult from
Merck.
If you're using a wide definition of "coliform" i.e. Enterobacteriaecae
then on chromocult E. coli grow a purple/blue colonies while other coliforms
are red.

An alternative could be violet red glucose bile agar, all coliforms are red.

Both agars are pretty specific
