I hope some denizens of this group may be interested in this; my sincere
apologies to those who are not.

The British Deer Society branches in Northern England are organising a
one-day seminar to begin at 1030 on October 7 at the King's Head Hotel,
Richmond, Yorkshire, UK:

Foot and Mouth: its short and long-term implications for deer in the UK.

I haven't got the full list of speakers but they include representatives
from English Nature, DEFRA, and the Game Dealers Association as
well as deer biologists and other specialists.

Tickets UKP15 to include coffee, lunch and afternoon tea to be booked
from Alastair Ward on 01937 531781 or 07815 139923, or email
aiw102 at york.ac.uk before Friday 5th October when that account ceases to
function. Tickets will _not_ be available at the door.

For more information contact Alastair Ward on the numbers given.
