A client of mine in Maryland is seeking a Ph.D level Scientist. They are a
therapeutically-focused and emerging pharmaceutical company whose mission is
to improve therapies for antibacterial and antiviral agents. Their
technology is based on prolonged absorption systems which functionally
extend an anti-infective agents' therapeutic activity, and delivers the drug
more efficiently. The end result is an improved clinical outcome due to
optimized delivery, improved patient compliance and reduced drug resistance,
both during a course of therapy and in the general environment. Although it
is an early stage company, they are well-positioned to compete in the $15
billion anti-infectives market.
Requirements: 1-3 years post-doctoral experience in microbiology, molecular
cell biology and pharmacology of anti-infectives. Industry experience an
advantage. Experience in cell culture and in vivo models of
bacterial/fungal infections, biochemical/cellular assays and PK/PD modeling
as they pertain to developing new therapies for antibiotics and NCE’s.
Knowledge of GMP/GLP regulations and evaluation of FDA regulated drug
candidates for IND submissions required.
