Microbacteria used in Living Machines

I'm doing a project on designing a Living Machine to treat McMaster's 
wastewater stream and I need some help on recommending specific types of 
bacteria that are suitable for use in waste treatment.

I am finding out what chemicals the stream contains so that may be 
helpful to narrown down my question.  In the mean time, does anyone know 
about specfic sites to visit or people to email concerning this?
