I have a problem that I need some help on.
As part of my final year BSc(Hons) degree project I have been studying
the cytonkines produced by macrophages and neutrophils when they are
stimulated with various types of lipopolysaccharide (LPS). I used the U937
cell line differentiated with phorbol myrisate acetate (PMA) as my source
of macrophages. The problem was that the differentiated U937 cells seemed
to produce large amounts of IL-8 even when they were not stimulated with
LPS. I was wondering whether anyone else had these problems and that maybe
it was associated with the differentiation with PMA.
I have run out of practical time for my project so I am unable to test out
