isolation, detection, virus

Hello,

I'm Johan Kuiken 18m. I'm from holland and a study "biomedical laboratory
research."

We want to define the general microbiological condition of a dry surface.
We're seeking for a way to isolate an detect viruses. We were thinking of a
swab methode to isolate the viruses but we've no idea how to detect te
isolated viruses. When I talk about viruses I mean Rotaviruses in general.

A web-address or an e-mail which has any information about isolation and
detection methods is very welcome.
