evolution of viruses, particularly pathogenic viruses. I found a
particularly clear and readable, though somewhat anecdotal,
presentation of the subject in the article by Stephen S. Morse,
"Emerging viruses: defining the rules for viral traffic" in
Perspective in Biology and Medicine 34(3), 387-409 (1991).
