We are sequencing a cyclic peptide synthetase gene from a fungus and have to
date a 9 kb ORF. The record t.t.b.o.m.k. is the 11+kb ACV synthetase gene
from Penicillium (Smith et al., 1990, EMBO J., 9:2743). Question: is 9 kb the
second largest? Does anyone have a program that can search GENBANK on the
basis of ORF size, and, for example, print out a list of the ten largest
ORF's?
A kilodalton of thanks for your trouble!
