Below is a description of two tenure-track positions currently
open in our department. Inquiries and applications are welcome.
Evolutionary Geneticist and Environmental Microbiologist. The
University of South Florida and the Department of Biology has
two full-time, 9 month tenure-track positions at the level of
Assistant or Associate Professor. Candidates need a Ph.D. and
postdoctoral research experience; are expected to train graduate
students and establish research programs that are
molecularly-oriented and externally-funded. Teaching will be
undergraduate genetics or microbiology and in specialty graduate
courses. Intra- and interdepartmental collaboration is
facilitated through the Institute for Biomolecular Science and
the Center for Urban Ecology. Title and salary will be
commensurate with qualifications. USF is a comprehensive
research and teaching university. The Department is
multi-disciplinary with 35 faculty members. Applicants should

statements of research and teaching interests, and should
arrange for 3 letters of recommendation to be forwarded.
