In the 4th edition of Evolution of the Vertebrates by Colbert and Morales
(1991, Wiley-Liss, Inc), the authors suggest the following sequence:
bony fishes originate from agnathans ca. 400 mya
amphibians originate from bony fishes ca. 370 mya
reptiles originate from amphibians ca. 310 mya
mammals originate from reptiles ca. 225 mya
The first mammals are suggeted to stem from theriodont reptiles. Hope
