Ed Rybicki is incorrect in assuming that bacteria are the most primative
organisms and everything evolves at the same rate.
For example, the human generation time is 25yr, where as, the generation
time for E.coli when grown under ideal conditions, can be as little as 20min.
Therefore, E.coli and bacteria e.t.c can evolve at a faster rate relative to
to most organisms. Indeed, if the goal of organisms is to reproduce and survive,
then bacteria do a very good job.
