DIMACS SPECIAL YEAR:
Mathematical Support for Molecular Biology
PHYLOGENY RECONSTRUCTION
FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
As part of the 1994-95 DIMACS special year on Mathematical
Support for Molecular Biology, a two and one half day workshop on
Phylogeny Reconstruction will be held February 6 -- February 8, 1995.
The focus of the workshop will be on computational and statistical
problems arising in the reconstruction of phylogenetic trees and
graphs from molecular data. The goal is to create a dialogue between
biologists, statisticians and computer scientists that will expand the
participants' research interests and promote collaborations between
the fields.
LOCATION:
DIMACS is the NSF science and technology center for discrete
mathematics and computer science. It is a consortium of Rutgers and
Princeton Universities, AT\&T Bell Laboratories, and Bellcore. The
workshop will be held at Princeton University, Princeton, New Jersey.

CALL FOR CONTRIBUTED PRESENTATIONS:
The workshop will include invited and contributed presentations.
Contributed papers are solicited in all aspects of phylogeny
reconstruction. Approximately ten 15-minute contributed talks will be
selected by the Workshop Committee for inclusion in the program.
