Primate Fever and Evolution

Non-human Primates have been shown to lack a fever response, but possess an
acute phase response (i.e. immunological response) to Gram-negative
infections. However, as humans and vertebrates down the evolutionary scale
present themselves with fever during endotoxaemia, and since fever is
considered a beneficial host response to infection,

Question: Why then is there a break in the evolution of fever in
vertebrates, with fever reappearing in humans.

		Any Views Out There??!!!
