TreeView is a simple program for displaying evolutionary trees on Apple
Macintosh and MS Windows computers. The program accepts NEXUS and PHYLIP
format tree files.
Version 0.95 is now available from the following Web site:
http://taxonomy.zoology.gla.ac.uk/rod/treeview.html
This version improves the handling of PHYLIP tree files (previously names
that did not start with a letter, or contained characters other than
letters, numbers, period "." or underscore "_" caused the program to
reject the file or crash).
Other improvements include the ability to root trees using an outgroup
and to rearrange the order in which the tree is drawn. Print preview in
the Windows version is now faster. A short manual now accompanies the
program.
If you encounter difficulties with the program please let me know (if the
problem concerns reading a file, please send me a copy of the file).
The program is free, but it is helpful if you register it by sending me
an email message confirming that you have the program. You will then be
placed on a mailing list for notification of future releases.
