It turns out that Elena Foshay was indeed a student at the U of Illinois, but that she left there (in
good repute, with an "A" average) several semesters ago. Somehow some spaming scumbag
managed to use her old account to send several different commercial messages to several
different newsgroups. The U of Illinois is looking into the situation to see what can be done.
By the way, one of the more obnoxious postings offered essays for sale, citing one of the top uses
of them as "Print them up with your name on top and turn in to your teachers."
Ralph, if you have the energy, you might drive up to Scottsdale to see what the following company
is all about:

This same address appears on all the spams, regardless of the spam offer or the apparently
originating email address (there have been others used besides Ms Foshay's).
