Try looking in:
Nucleic Acids Research, 1994, Vol 22, No 14, pp 2437-2446 
for an article on codon usage bias in Caenorhabditis elegans.  Or for a more general paper,
look at:
Phil. Trans. R. Soc. Lond. B., 1995, Vol 349, pp 241-247

There are many more articles looking at codon usage bias in specific organisms, but you
should be able to pick out suitable references from the above papers.

Email me if you need to know any more on this, I'm looking at codon usage bias at present.
