Hey, interesting. Which species? Any significant database homologies?

On what exactly? Group I introns and algae? You probably know the
literature from the David Shub lab concerning group I's in cyanobacteria?
And also the PNAS paper from the Melkonian group on group I in rRNA of
Zygnematales?
Also a nice paper concerning group I is Vaughn et al. in JMolEvol 41:563
because they have a hint for horizontal transfer from a fungus into a
plant mito genome.
