A simple program exists which generates Decay Indices from an existing
PAUP treefile. 'AutoDecay' was created by Torsten Eriksson at Stockholm
University (Torsten.Eriksson at botan.su.se) to simplify the the task of
creating reverse constraint trees in PAUP and subsequent generation of
Bremer support values.
Add up your decay values, divide the total # by the length of the tree
and you have the total support index (ti).
See Bremer, K. 1994. Cladistics 10:295-304.
If you would like a copy, you can obtain AutoDecay 3.0 (A C program
compiled for the Mac)and relevant instructions as well as an older
(hypercard stack) version (AutoDecay 2.7) via anonymous FTP to
128.97.40.127. Log in to the </pub> directoryas <anonymous> and use your
<email address> as the password.
This is s not-so-fast connection so patience is necessary.
