I think there are also some theories that predict the peptide nucleic
acids (PNA's) preceded RNA. Since it has been proven that RNA can
catalyze certain reactions and that PNA's don't occur naturally today,
these theories seem pretty weak and off-the-wall. I am not sure if this
is also relevant to the previous post but perhaps someone has some
refrences!?
