We are seeking to appoint a molecular geneticist to work on the genetic
basis of key quantitative traits for eucalypt breeding programs. Initial
focus will be on wood and pulp traits and rooting ability in eucalypt
plantation species. You will join a team which is carrying out research on
molecular breeding of forest tree crops and assessment of genetic resources
of native forests.
The person we are seeking must have a PhD with training in molecular
biology/genetics and will have wide experience in molecular techniques,
including DNA marker technologies. Experience in genetic mapping, QTL
analysis and cDNA library construction will be favourably regarded.
Demonstrated ability to write and communicate orally will be required. The
appointment will be for a period of five years.
