POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Department of Biology
University of Nevada, Reno

TITLE:  Assistant Professor--Evolutionary Biology

DESCRIPTION:  Tenure-track faculty position; academic-year appointment. 
Responsibilities include developing a strong, externally-funded research
program, teaching in undergraduate and graduate courses, and mentoring
graduate students.  Additional details about the department can be found

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Ph.D. in one of the biological sciences,
postdoctoral experience, teaching experience, evidence of excellence in
research through publications.  Research must include a significant focus
on elucidating evolutionary patterns or processes.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Demonstrated ability to obtain outside funding
for research; research specialty that complements those of existing
faculty; interest in research in Great Basin/Sierra Nevada region;
evidence of emerging national or international reputation.

SALARY:  Commensurate with experience.
