For those of you planning on attending the upcoming 1998 Annual
SSE/ASN/SSB Meetings in Vancouver next week. One of the unions
associated with the Vancouver International Airport has a strike
mandate, and there is a very good chance they will go out in the next
24-48 hours. Airport authorities say they'll do what they can to
minimize impact, but if other unions honour pickets, this could
disrupt air travel to Vancouver in a big way. Worst case scenario - it
could shut the airport down entirely, meaning no flights incoming or
departing.
You're advised to check with your travel agent for latest news. If I
learn anything, I'll post it here.
