Dear all,
I am a postdoc working on a family of tandemly repeated genes in the
male germline. I wish to understand how these duplications can occur
and become fixed in the genome and have come across references that
mention selective sweep, reduced recombination rates etc.
Can anyone please recommend a good text or series of references that can
give me a scholarly but preferably non-mathematical review of the
subject matter.

I dont' know if the book is still in print but it was a good book. It is
Evolution by Gene Duplication by Susimo Ohno 1970 Springer Verlag New
York.Heidleberg.Berlin
