Graduate Assistantships in Bioinformatics

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is seeking qualified doctoral
students to participate in the development of models of protein
evolution that can be used to predict protein structure and function.
This is a multi-disciplinary research project that is directed by
faculty in the Department of Biology (http://biology.louisiana.edu/) and
the Center for Advanced Computer Studies
(http://www.cacs.louisiana.edu/) and will make use of LITE, a new data
visualization and supercomputing center (http://www.lite3d.com/site.php)
. Research assistantships ($25,000 per year + tuition) are available for
the Fall of 2007 or the Spring of 2008. Preference will be given to
students with a background in either biochemistry and/or C/C++
programming. Interested applicants should contact Dr. Joseph Neigel
(jneigel from louisiana.edu).
