TWO ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITIONS
PHYSIOLOGY and EVOLUTION

We seek two faculty in the areas of animal physiology and evolution.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR BOTH POSITIONS*:  Earned Ph.D. in the
biological sciences and post doctoral research experience in the area of
animal physiology (for physiology position) or evolution using molecular
tools (for the evolution position).  Record of published research in
refereed journals and a potential to develop a research program involving
undergraduate and graduate students that will lead to scientific
publication in refereed journals. 

DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR BOTH POSITIONS **: Two or more years
of post doctoral research experience.  Strong commitment toward
undergraduate teaching, including general education.  Prior teaching
experience at the post secondary level.  Potential to develop and teach
courses in addition to specialty that contribute to program concentrations
in cellular & molecular biology and/or ecology.  Demonstrated flexibility
and willingness to work cooperatively as a team member. 

DUTIES:  PHYSIOLOGY POSITION:  Develop and teach an upper division course
(with a lab) in comparative animal physiology; EVOLUTION POSITION: 
Develop and teach an upper division lecture course in Evolution and an
upper division lecture and lab course in Molecular Ecology.  BOTH
POSITIONS: Participate in teaching other courses, including lower division
courses for majors and/or non majors.  Develop and sustain an independent
research program, preferably on campus, that involves students and leads
to scientific publications in refereed journals.  Participate in
committees and other activities that serve the program, university, and
community.
