Working with Calpha only PDB files

Recently, I was sent a PDB file containing the coordinates of the Calphas for a protein.
I was surprised to find that it was difficult to produce a graphic representation
of that protein. We finally solved the the problem in Quanta, which apparently
contains a module to "fill in" the missing atoms for a main chain representation.
Is there anything simple out there that does the same thing?
