I am a new member of this group. I apologize if my questions are FAQ.
I have two questions.
(1) I just started using BIOSYM software package to do molecular
modelling
study. Up to now, I have to solve a problem that there are TWO
fragments of our protein cannot be matched to any primary sequences of
other proteins. So what we have, at the present moment, is an incomplete
3D protein structure. By the way, the X-ray structure for this protein is
not available.
I would like to obtain the coordinates of those two loops by modelling
them
separately. Could anyone suggest me which is an appropreate module in
BIOSYM. Is one of this the PROFILES-3D? Since I am a new BIOSYM user and
would
like to be sure that I am using the right one.
(2) The internet in our silicon graphic does not work if we use
insightII. So we have to set the network configuration to be "off". I was
told that it is the OS problem. Can anyone provide me any solutions?
Anyway, if you have any other suggestions I will appreciate them all.
