This is a 100% casual position to support research efforts in mechanisms
of neural healing following brain and spinal cord injury.
Duties: Research involves quantification of several trophic factors at
the mRNA and protein levels. Individual will be required to perform
nuclease protection assays, ELISA, in situ hybridization, and
immunohistochemistry using brain tissues. Individual will also be
involved in animal surgery using stereotaxic techniques to examine
regeneration of the brain and spinal cord following trauma.
Requirements: Bachelor or Master in Science with experience in molecular
biology, handling small mammals, histological techniques, and analyses of
data using computer assistance. U.S. residency.
