There is an article in the New York Times which describes results of a
large NIH study which shows that for children with ADHD medication alone
is as effective as medication+behaviour therapy. However, many children
diagnosed as suffering from ADAH also suffer from other mental health
problems such as despression, and for those children behaviour therapy
in addition to medication is helpful:
