[Neuroscience] Neuroscientific basis for confidence ?

Hi everyone,
                     Has there been established any neuroscientific
basis for (the feeling of) confidence or lack of it in a human ? What
makes an individual feel confident/diffident in a given situation ?
Are any particular class of neurotransmitters primarily responsible
for inducing the feeling of confidence ?

Any pointers/links would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
